Attention customers with
Heartland Payments / DataCap NETePay, using Windows XP operating systems
Tab Wizard is always working hard to keep our client systems running efficiently on all Windows platforms however, as many are aware, Microsoft has ended support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. As Technology continues to rapidly grow, we here at Tab Wizard must stay ahead of such advancements and keep you informed.
We recently learned that Heartland has pulled the plug on support for XP making it impossible to run credit cards integrated in Tab Wizard. This is due to security protocols not built into Windows XP. Many customers have switched to Windows 7 POSReady which is the extended support for Microsoft. Microsoft has ended the retail version support for Windows 7 on January 13, 2015 however, Windows 7 POSReady systems are extended until October 12, 2021.
What does this mean and how does it affect you?
1. If your system is running Windows XP and integrated credit card with Heartland Payments, your system is effected and you will need to call Tab Wizard to find out your options.
2. If your system is not running integrated credit cards on Windows XP and you are not connected to the internet, there is no need to be alarmed and you will not be effected.
3. If your system is running XP and integrated with Vantiv Integrated Payments, it is a wise choice to begin thinking of options to switch to a new Operating System to prevent end of support for Windows XP users.
